Official: Russian grain producers ready for global competition
MOSCOW, Nov 22 (PRIME) -- Russian grain producers are ready for tough competition on the global market and plan to boost exports further, First Deputy Agriculture Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov told reporters on Tuesday.
Russia currently exports grain to over 100 countries, he said, adding that the quality of Russian grain is higher than that of European states. The country’s main export development strategy implies boosting supplies to the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, he said.
But Russia’s strategic goal is to meet domestic demands and create facilities for deep processing of grain, Khatuov said.
